Recently, Ant Group and China University of Mining and Technology jointly conducted a blockchain security teacher training. More than 20 faculty members from the university's School of Computer Science and 30 graduate students participated, connecting with Ant's Tianchen Lab blockchain security experts to discuss talent cultivation and teaching methods.

The training focused on blockchain security issues and development trends. Lecturers from Tianchen Lab shared common smart‑contract vulnerability scenarios, explaining their underlying principles from both developer and security practitioner perspectives, and suggested design ideas for safer contract environments.

"Since the summer of 2021, the university has launched the 'China University of Mining and Technology‑Ant Security Industry‑Academia Collaborative Blockchain Technology Innovation Practice Course.' In 2022, under the Ministry of Education's industry‑academia collaborative education project, the joint development of a general‑education credit course on blockchain technology was further promoted," said Zhou Yong, dean of the School of Computer and Technology.

During the training, Tianchen Lab instructors also shared Ant Chain's on‑chain "attack and defense" practices based on smart‑contract adversarial detection technology. Director Wang Yu emphasized that blockchain security is a subset of cyberspace security and requires systematic defense building and continuous learning of target weaknesses.

In recent years, blockchain has become a foundational technology for the digital economy, driving Web 3.0 and metaverse concepts. The rapid industry expansion creates a huge demand for security talent; China currently graduates only about 30,000 information‑security professionals while demand exceeds 700,000, leaving a 95% gap. Gartner predicts a blockchain talent shortage of over 750,000 in the next five years.

As an early blockchain practitioner, Ant Group uses blockchain to build new trust mechanisms, enhances industrial digitalization, and collaborates with many universities to nurture innovative talent. Since 2020, Ant has participated in Ministry‑led collaborative education projects, with its security lab co‑creating security courses and teacher‑training programs, making this training a new attempt in blockchain security education.

Dean Zhou highlighted that the training benefits from Ant's practical experience in blockchain security, helping to advance curriculum reform and research in university blockchain security programs.

Ant Group senior recruitment expert Zhang Wei also met with faculty and students, sharing insights on cultivating security talent. She noted that in 2022, recruitment increased most in blockchain, graph computing, security technology, AI, and databases, and new positions in privacy computing and cryptographic algorithms were added for fresh graduates. Ant now collaborates with over 70 universities and more than 100 top scholars worldwide.

The State Council's "14th Five‑Year Plan" for digital economy development further amplifies blockchain's role as a key industry, emphasizing the need to mitigate risks to ensure healthy, orderly growth.

Because blockchain’s immutability makes security vulnerabilities extremely costly, Ant Group continues to promote secure blockchain practices through industry collaboration and knowledge sharing.
