Recent AI Talent Turnover in Major Chinese Tech Companies
From December 2023 to May 2024, 19 prominent AI professionals moved among leading Chinese tech firms—including ByteDance, Alibaba, Ant Group, Baidu, Kuaishou, JD.com, and Xiaomi—resulting in 14 departures and five new hires, with many senior executives leaving after more than a decade to start AI ventures, join star AI startups, or take senior AI roles at other large companies.
