What’s Driving China’s AIOps Evolution? Insights from the 2023 Survey

China AIOps Current Situation Survey

China is undergoing a wave of digital, informational, networked, and intelligent transformation, accelerating the convergence of next‑generation information technologies with other industries. Powered by big data, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence, AIOps (AI‑driven IT operations) has become essential for managing massive physical assets, pinpointing faults, defending against network attacks, and rapidly adapting to changing demands.

Survey Background and Invitation

To better understand the development of China’s AIOps industry, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) together with the Cloud Computing Open Source Industry Alliance initiated the first domestic "China AIOps Status Survey Report (2023)". The survey aims to help enterprises grasp the current state of intelligent operations, promote effective technology adoption, and support healthy industry growth.

The questionnaire is open online for one month, closing on June 13, 2023. Respondents who complete the survey will receive the full report for free upon its planned Q3 release.

Report Highlights

Intelligent Operations Development Status

The survey examines enterprises' construction ideas, investment levels, and implementation methods for intelligent operations, assesses current scenario applications and effects, and evaluates maturity of capabilities and tools.

Observability Use Cases

Observability—collecting, analyzing, and storing key metrics to understand system state—has a dedicated chapter in 2023, exploring industry acceptance, construction status, and application outcomes.

Future Development and Challenges

With the rise of generative AI (e.g., ChatGPT), the report investigates how such technologies might integrate with intelligent operations, suitable scenarios, and plans for adopting GPT.

Best‑Practice Case Collection

The "AIOps Best‑Practice Case Collection" activity launches on May 18, with selected cases to be featured in the report’s best‑practice chapter.

Previous Survey (2022)

The inaugural 2022 China AIOps survey gathered 1,807 valid responses from over 60 enterprises, publishing the "China AIOps Status Survey Report (2022)" at the XOps Industry Ecosystem Summit. It provided a comprehensive view of AIOps maturity, trends, challenges, and became a key reference for large enterprises.

Participation Benefits

Both newcomers and experts are encouraged to share insights, which will be kept confidential and used solely for the report. Participants may receive commemorative gifts from supporting organizations.
