On July 15, 2021, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) held the “2021 China Internet Conference – Digital Governance Forum” in Beijing, where the 2021 China DevOps Status Survey Report was officially released and explained.
Background and Motivation
China is undergoing a wave of digital, informational, networked, and intelligent transformation, with next‑generation information technologies merging rapidly with other industries, spawning new ecosystems, technologies, and services. Enterprises increasingly demand higher software quality and faster release cycles, prompting a shift toward DevOps practices.
Survey Scope and Participants
The survey, coordinated by CAICT’s Cloud Computing and Big Data Institute together with over 40 enterprises—including major banks, cloud providers, technology firms, and research institutions—aimed to assess the maturity of DevOps adoption in China.
Using the “DevOps Capability Maturity Model” as a reference, the questionnaire collected 1,862 valid responses, covering transformation status, future development, and policy/qualification needs.
Key Findings
