Technical Salon on DevOps, Agile, and Cloud Development at Tianjin University

The event, titled "Technical Salon on DevOps, Agile and Cloud Development," was co‑organized by the IDCF community and Tianjin University’s Huaxin Software College, bringing together students and industry experts in a campus setting.

Hosted by Vice Dean Zhu Liqing, the salon featured a keynote by Yao Dong, a chief solution architect from Huawei Cloud PaaS, who shared three main topics: (1) "Technology Innovation – Lean Agile and DevOps Analysis," (2) "Application Practice – R&D Efficiency with Huawei Cloud CodeArts," and (3) "Growth Path of Excellent Engineers – DevOps Talent Development Map."

Yao Dong explained the evolution of agile, defined DevOps, compared development methodologies, and illustrated core concepts with real‑world enterprise cases, encouraging interactive discussion and deepening students’ understanding.

After the "Application Practice" segment, participants received valuable resources such as the talent growth map and recommended community books, which were well received.

The "Talent Growth Map" session detailed an 18‑role framework for high‑performance R&D teams, helping organizations define role responsibilities and design targeted training strategies, while also guiding students on professional development.

In the Q&A segment, students asked about the skill level required to join companies like Huawei and whether to pursue internships, employment, or graduate studies, receiving advice on holistic competence, "π‑type" talent, and long‑term career planning.

The concluding remarks emphasized the importance of participating in such technical salons to gain practical experience, stay updated on industry trends, and build professional networks that support future employment and career growth.
