Recap of the March 19 Elixir Meetup – Topics, Audience Insights, and Resources
The March 19 Elixir Meetup brought together four seasoned Elixir practitioners and over 3,200 online attendees to discuss resilience with Elixir and Kubernetes, FaaS design using Arweave and LiveView, native compilation of Elixir, Zig‑based NIF development, and to share learning resources and community opportunities.
The sixth Elixir Meetup took place on March 19, featuring four experienced Elixir users who presented to more than 3,200 online participants. The talks covered:
Resilience with Elixir & Kubernetes
FaaS system design and demo based on Arweave Network and LiveView
Compiling Elixir to native binaries
Developing Elixir NIFs with Zig
Audience questions about Elixir’s advantages, disadvantages, and systematic learning paths were also addressed, and a replay of the livestream along with the slide decks is available.
Attendees highlighted the practical value of Elixir’s supervisor model for building fault‑tolerant services and praised the use of Kubernetes for robust deployment. They also discussed the steep learning curve of Elixir, the benefits of liveview/livebook for newcomers, and the potential of combining Elixir with blockchain technologies in FaaS projects.
Additional resources shared include links to articles on building multimedia E2E platforms with Elixir/OTP, applying Ruby concepts in Elixir projects, and a seven‑year‑old performance issue discovered in an Elixir codebase.
The post also aggregates upcoming Elixir‑related conferences such as QCon China, Code BEAM Europe, ElixirConf EU, Lambda Days, Rustlang 2022, Code BEAM America, and RubyConf China, providing dates and URLs for each event.
Finally, the Tubi Titan Team invites readers to join the Elixir developer community, submit resumes via QR code, and watch the meetup replay, while encouraging suggestions for future meetup topics.
