OpenSumi is a cross-platform (Web and Electron) IDE development framework targeting vertical domains with low entry barriers, high performance, and high customizability. Developed by Alibaba and Ant Group, it is built using TypeScript and React, providing core modules like resource manager, editor, debugger, Git panel, and search panel. Developers can quickly build local or cloud IDEs with simple configuration, and it is compatible with VS Code plugin ecosystem.
The framework is now part of the Summer Open Source Program, a summer activity organized by the Institute of Software, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and openEuler community. The program encourages college students to participate in open source software development and offers mentorship from experienced developers. Successful participants receive monetary rewards and certificates.
OpenSumi community projects include implementing IDE mode GitHub CodeReview functionality and developing a cross-window file operation solution.
