Microsoft’s ‘Your Phone’ App Brings Android Phone Integration to Windows PCs

The article outlines how Microsoft’s Your Phone app enables Android smartphones—especially Honor’s Magic V—to sync with Windows 10/11 PCs for calls, messages, notifications, photos and apps, while noting limited features, recent availability in China, and the broader trend of cross‑device continuity first shown by Apple in 2014.

Microsoft’s ‘Your Phone’ App Brings Android Phone Integration to Windows PCs

Back in 2014 at WWDC, Apple demonstrated "Continuity" that let Mac computers and iOS devices share calls, messages, and files under the same iCloud account, allowing users to work efficiently without picking up an iPhone.

Four years later, Microsoft introduced a multi‑device connectivity tool called Your Phone for overseas markets and Samsung users, extending similar capabilities to Windows PCs.

The app lets users place and receive calls, send and receive SMS, view notifications, and instantly access photos and apps on an Android device directly from the PC.

Huawei’s MateBook, Xiaomi’s laptops and other brands offer comparable features under names like "Cross‑Screen Collaboration" or "Multi‑Screen Sync," all of which rely on connecting a phone to a PC.

However, Microsoft’s solution currently supports only a limited set of functions; features such as wireless projection and file management are not yet available, though the app’s stability benefits from being a native Microsoft product.

Notably, the Chinese version of Your Phone is finally available, but it only works on Windows 10 or Windows 11.

At present, the app supports only Honor devices such as the Honor Magic V; other brands are not yet supported.

The Honor Magic V, a recent foldable flagship equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, can use Your Phone to maintain seamless collaboration with Windows 10/11 devices.

Honor previously announced a strategic partnership with Microsoft China and hinted that the Your Phone functionality would support its products.

To use the full features of the Your Phone app in China, users need a supported Honor phone and the device must run Android 7.0 or higher.
