Interview with Yin Yuhui on 360 Intelligent Document Cloud: AI‑Driven Knowledge Management and Security

In the 2024 "Listening to the Intelligent Era" column, CIO Times interviewed Yin Yuhui, Vice President of Technology at 360 Group and head of the technology middle‑platform and cloud applications, to explore the opportunities, strategies, core technologies, and innovative products of 360 YiFang Cloud amid the AIGC wave.

Yin introduced himself as the leader responsible for the technology middle‑platform and digital business at 360 Group, describing 360 YiFang Cloud as a fully owned subsidiary that evolved from an enterprise cloud drive to a leading provider of enterprise‑grade intelligent document solutions.

He emphasized that in the era of large models, knowledge management becomes a vital navigation system for enterprises, requiring four core capabilities: massive data handling, intelligent knowledge extraction, precise insight delivery, and robust security.

The Intelligent Document Cloud solution, powered by the company’s "360 Zhihun" large model, offers a suite of tools—including a knowledge‑management platform, AI document assistant, AI cloud documents, AI Q&A, and AI search—to aggregate and process unstructured data such as files, images, and audio‑video, thereby improving operational efficiency.

Compared with market alternatives, the solution stands out for its deep document layout analysis, fast and accurate content recognition, and the ability to provide SaaS versions for small‑to‑medium enterprises as well as customizable private‑cloud deployments for larger clients.

Security is addressed through a three‑layer approach: a robust security model built on 360’s AI security framework, fine‑grained permission controls that ensure RAG‑based model outputs respect user access rights, and AI‑driven content detection that tags and classifies sensitive information.

Breakthrough technologies include advanced Chinese language understanding, state‑of‑the‑art OCR and document extraction, RAG‑enhanced generation and customization, and the capability to deploy private models for regulated industries such as finance and government.

The product has undergone three development stages—from an enterprise drive to a document cloud and finally to the Intelligent Document Cloud—each adding new features, tighter security, and deeper AI integration.

To stay competitive, 360 offers SaaS options with encrypted data handling for smaller customers and high‑parameter private models (up to billions of parameters) for large enterprises, while also supporting domestic ecosystems like Huawei’s HarmonyOS.

Looking ahead, Yin predicts that knowledge‑management markets will become increasingly AI‑centric, with vertical‑industry solutions and ecosystem partnerships driving further innovation and adoption.
