Interview with MobSDK Project Director Yu Xunjie on Mobile SDK Architecture and Product Management

During the GIAC conference, Mob's technical expert Yu Xunjie shared the evolution of MobSDK user interfaces, and was interviewed by Keep's mobile chief architect Wu Jianjun about the platform's advantages.

Yu highlighted three main strengths: a comprehensive SDK matrix with over ten products offering unified APIs and documentation, reduced package size due to in‑house components, and automatic integration that eliminates manual dependency management.

He described the 24/7 one‑to‑one technical support available through various channels such as QQ, WeChat, phone and forums.

Regarding product management, Yu explained that each SDK is run by an independent project team, with detailed project specifications covering initiation, design, development, testing and release, and a culture that encourages craftsmanship and user‑centric feedback.

For developers building e‑commerce apps, Mob offers an “APP Factory” template that can generate a ready‑to‑use Android and iOS app in minutes, or an e‑commerce SDK that can be integrated within one to two days to provide product display, purchase, payment and logistics features.

Mob also once provided live‑streaming SDKs for platforms like Kuaishou and Douyin, and a video‑recording solution ShareREC that supports Unity3D, Cocos2d‑x and system‑wide recording with configurable bitrate and resolution.

Yu clarified that MobSDK is not an IDE but a collection of services; developers can use the APP Factory for quick app creation or integrate specific SDKs such as ShareSDK, SMSSDK, MobPush and Mob Analytics for social sharing, SMS verification, push notifications and statistics.

He compared MobSDK to cloud services for backend engineers, with base SDKs acting as cloud servers and higher‑level “SDK + operation enablement” offering big‑data and growth solutions, plus customized business cooperation.

Finally, Yu discussed the team’s culture, emphasizing collaboration, innovation, quality metrics, role rotation, quarterly research topics, and a dual‑track performance assessment covering both functional expertise and project contributions.
