How to Build an Android Expert Bot on the Coze Platform

ByteDance has launched the Coze platform in China; this tutorial shows how to customize an Android‑domain expert bot using the platform, based on prior experience with the overseas version.

1. Create a Bot – Visit https://www.coze.cn/explore, click “Create Bot”, fill in required information, and generate an AI‑created icon.

2. Set the persona – Define the bot’s character and response logic on the left panel; start with simple requirements and use the “optimize” button.

3. Add capabilities via plugins – Enable internet search, drawing, and other functions through available plugins.

4. Add a knowledge base – Upload resources to help the bot answer niche technical questions.

5. Configure voice settings – Set distinct voice tones for Chinese and English outputs.

6. Build a workflow – Use a workflow to generate avatars: add a start node, create a code block to process parameters (output key = result), insert the ByteArtist plugin to generate images, and configure the final output display.

Test the workflow by dragging components, setting parameters, and running the flow.

Testing the Bot

– Simple Q&A: ask the bot basic questions and verify responses.

– Workflow test: generate an avatar using the created workflow.

– Plugin test: try the Bing search plugin.

Publishing the Bot

When everything is ready, publish the bot; it becomes visible in the Doubao app and can be accessed from any terminal as an Android expert assistant.
