How 17 Leading Chinese Enterprises Excel with DevOps Maturity: 20 Assessment Highlights

Introduction

Amid the wave of digital transformation, enterprises are adopting DevOps to boost IT efficiency. The "Research and Development Operations Integration (DevOps) Capability Maturity Model" series of standards, led by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, provides strong guidance. Leading companies across industries use the model to assess and improve IT capabilities, integrate team resources and talent, and better support business systems.

Seventeen enterprises, including China Southern Power Grid, Tencent, Baidu, Lenovo, Qunar, Enjoy Travel, Baoxin Software, Huarong Technology, Shenzhou Taiyue, Changjie Tong, SoftPower, Beijing Gas, HaiFa Baocheng (formerly COSCO Shipping Leasing), Beike, ZenTao, and GitLab, have completed 20 evaluation items under the DevOps capability maturity model.

Baoxin Software – Baowu Industry Chain Ecosystem Data Collaboration Platform

The project supports Baowu's smart steel ecosystem transformation, enabling open sharing, collaborative connections, intelligent agility, and iterative innovation. After assessment, delivery frequency increased from one version per six months to an average of 4.87 releases per month per application, with 100% automated interface test coverage, over 85% unit test coverage, and a 97% automated deployment success rate.

Huarong Technology – Business Evaluation System 2.0

The system integrates requirement management, project management, release management, and statistical measurement, enabling online flow and monitoring of all asset evaluation processes. The assessment led to process and institutional optimizations, enhanced technical capabilities across multiple DevOps domains, and cultivated internal engineering and agile coaches.

SoftPower – iPaaS Technology Platform

The enterprise‑level PaaS platform provides rapid development, construction, and customization capabilities based on cloud‑native architecture, offering reusable components and services to accelerate business‑scenario development and delivery.

Beijing Gas – Tongzhou Call Center Construction

The intelligent customer service system integrates all communication channels, delivering a cloud‑based, intelligent, and customized digital platform that unifies service experience, reduces costs, and enhances customer service capabilities.

HaiFa Baocheng – JingYuanBao Management Platform

Targeting supply‑chain finance in insurance, the project leverages DevOps to build an integrated R&D‑operations tool, breaking down silos and supporting rapid iteration and high‑quality delivery.

Security and Risk (Standard 6) Compliance

Changjie Tong – Small‑Enterprise One‑Stop Service Platform

The platform provides socialized, personalized, and service‑oriented management support for micro‑enterprises, leveraging SaaS to meet diverse cloud service needs and drive efficient business growth.

Efficiency Measurement (Standard 8) Compliance

Baidu – iReport Efficiency Measurement Platform

Baidu's iReport platform, developed based on internal experience, aggregates years of software engineering best practices and efficiency improvement methodologies, covering all five scenarios of the DevOps efficiency measurement model.

System and Tools (Standard 8) Compliance

Southern Power Grid – CloudYan Platform DevOps Subsystem

The project passed the "Build and Continuous Integration" and "Pipeline" modules with excellent ratings, providing essential capabilities such as code repository, scanning, packaging, automated deployment, and testing to support agile development and ensure consistent code quality.

The model, jointly developed by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, the Cloud Computing Open Source Industry Alliance, the Efficient Operations Community, and leading internet, finance, and telecom companies, is the first comprehensive DevOps series standard worldwide. It has been released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and adopted by many leading enterprises. The assessment framework includes Agile Development Management, Continuous Delivery, Technical Operations, Application Design, Security and Risk Management, and System and Tools.
