Guidelines for Chinese Text Layout and Punctuation in Product Development

In regular product development, due to time and cost considerations, layout details are often not prioritized; substituting similar punctuation can alleviate abruptness and help achieve a balance of professionalism and visual appeal.

Avoid using wide‑spacing bracket punctuation at the start of lines, such as “【”; use the narrower “[”.

When English letters or numbers appear next to Chinese characters, add a space on both sides of the English/number.

When parentheses are needed, use a space followed by half‑width parentheses to reduce spacing and improve reading efficiency.

Unlike reading‑oriented products that demand higher typographic standards and need to borrow traditional layout details, the Zhengcaiyun product requires special layout handling mainly for key business lists, which are mostly title‑type content. Since titles use relatively few punctuation marks, extensive effort is unnecessary; ensuring basic visual appeal and avoiding common errors is sufficient.
