GDI: A Cross-Border Fulfillment Solution for Global E-Commerce

This article introduces GDI (Global Data Integration), a cross-border fulfillment solution designed to address the complexities of international logistics, including overseas warehouse management, customs clearance, cross-border insurance, and online shipping for global e-commerce.

The solution was developed to support Joybuy.com's global sales business, which faces unique challenges compared to domestic operations. These challenges include complex international logistics, varying warehouse systems, customs clearance requirements, cross-border insurance needs, and the need to support third-party sellers in international shipping.

GDI serves as a fulfillment center for all cross-border data, capable of identifying and matching business patterns based on data markers from different channel sources. It collects configuration and data from various mid-platform systems, processes and distributes them to downstream systems according to external fulfillment system requirements.

The system's core structure enables it to complete all necessary export fulfillment processes according to predetermined steps, while monitoring and tracking the status of data tasks throughout the entire chain. It can identify abnormal states and respond accordingly.

Through GDI, businesses can configure order export fulfillment processes for specific channels. For example, for a particular channel order, GDI can process data and distribute it to designated overseas warehouse WMS systems, submit package information to online shipping systems after receiving shipping information from carriers, handle insurance policies and billing through its cross-border insurance module, and process order data for customs systems to generate customs declarations and tax refund documents.

GDI focuses on export-specific cross-border fulfillment flows, reducing international logistics costs and improving cross-border fulfillment efficiency. It provides a pathway for global consumers to access Chinese-made products and enables new cross-border export supply chain business channels to quickly launch operations by simply connecting to GDI and customizing personalized fulfillment flows.
