FFmpeg 4.3 Released with New AV1, Vulkan, AMD AMF, and QSV Support
FFmpeg 4.3 has been released, adding support for TrueHD in MP4, Intel QSV‑accelerated MJPEG and VP9 decoding, Vulkan‑based AMD AMF encoding on Linux, AV1 encoding via rav1e, ZeroMQ, VDPAU VP9 decoding, and numerous filter enhancements.
FFmpeg 4.3 is now available. FFmpeg is an open‑source suite for recording, converting, and streaming digital audio and video.
The new version introduces support for processing TrueHD in MP4 files, Intel QSV‑accelerated MJPEG and VP9 decoding, and adds Vulkan support for the AMD AMF encoder on Linux. It also brings AV1 encoding via rav1e, an AV1 Annex B demuxer, an AV1 frame‑merge bitstream filter, and various other filters and decoders such as the OpenCL video stabilization filter.
Additional improvements include ZeroMQ support, VDPAU VP9 decoding, and a range of smaller enhancements. The release can be downloaded from https://ffmpeg.org/download.html#release_4.3 .
