Ctrip Continuous Delivery Conference – “Publish When Ready” – Sharing Practices and Platforms

On December 19, Ctrip's Technical Assurance Center hosted the “Publish When Ready – Ctrip Continuous Delivery Conference” in the multifunction hall of Lingkong SOHO, bringing together internet professionals to share concepts and practices in continuous delivery.

In his opening remarks, Ctrip Technical Assurance Center General Manager Shi Jiansong highlighted the shift of Ctrip’s order sources from call centers to mobile platforms, emphasizing the critical need for fast, reliable delivery to meet user demands.

The first session featured Alibaba Technical Assurance Director Zhang Qunhui, who described how Alibaba manages consistency across tens of thousands of servers, discussing operational models that reduce staff and cost while handling complex multi‑application environments.

Next, Ctrip veteran Yang Bo presented how containers improve continuous delivery efficiency, stressing DevOps principles, container advantages, and a Netflix‑inspired PaaS platform with an image‑centric delivery workflow and open‑source project recommendations.

In the afternoon, Li Haowei from 1hao Store demonstrated a self‑built release system that automates the entire pipeline from code repository to production, introducing concepts such as automated staging, train‑schedule‑style release planning, zero‑touch deployment, gray releases, and automatic rollback to maintain high availability.

Sun Jialin then introduced the APE mobile automated cloud testing platform from Dianping, a fully home‑grown solution without Jenkins, covering test case design, automated device monitoring, online test modification, playback, and report generation to enable high‑availability mobile testing.

The final session, presented by Ctrip’s Liu Lifeng and Zhu Enqing, detailed the cutting‑edge MCD platform for wireless continuous delivery, outlining its architecture, end‑to‑end delivery chain—from workflow management and app packaging to automated testing, release monitoring, and hot‑fixes—offering a comprehensive solution for rapid mobile development.

Throughout the conference, audience engagement was high, with enthusiastic questions on continuous delivery concepts and implementation details, and feedback indicated strong appreciation for the event’s theme, organization, and the desire for future similar gatherings.
