Big Data and AI Security Insights from ISC 2018 Conference

At the ISC 2018 Internet Security Conference in Beijing, JD Security presented its AI security research and emphasized that big data and artificial intelligence security will become the main battlefields for cybersecurity.

Big Data Security Battle – Using a case study of Wall Street data companies, JD expert Zhao Bin explained the necessity of protecting enterprise big data and introduced measures such as anti‑scraping technology, CAPTCHA, and AI‑based human‑machine verification. JD also defined data‑masking standards so that any leaked data would be anonymized, and built a multi‑layered defense system based on big‑data analysis and device fingerprinting.

Using AI to Counter Black‑Market Operations – JD security specialist Su Zhigang described a strategy of “fighting fire with fire,” extracting models from captcha‑solving platforms, identifying their weaknesses, and generating adversarial samples that block automated registrations while remaining usable for humans. This approach reduced the success rate of machine‑based registrations from 76% to 12% and continues to improve.

JD is also advancing AI explanation techniques to understand and counter AI decisions more effectively.

Security as Service and Operations – Tony Lee argued that future security will focus on service‑oriented and operational models, becoming as essential as water and electricity for the internet. JD has deployed security across seven areas, including data centers, smart logistics, big‑data security, account security, IoT security, and AI security, and is promoting open‑source tools and community building to help small and medium enterprises overcome security challenges.
