Ant Group and Renmin University Conclude Blockchain Legal Teaching and Curriculum Reform Project, Winning Beijing Higher Education Teaching Achievement Award

Recently, the collaborative education project "Blockchain Legal Teaching and Curriculum System Reform" between Ant Group and Renmin University of China was completed, and its teaching achievement "Exploring the Urgent Need for Cross‑Disciplinary Legal Talent – A Case Study of Blockchain and Digital Economy" won the first‑prize Beijing Higher Education Teaching Achievement Award in 2022 and has been submitted for a national teaching award.

The Ministry of Education’s industry‑university collaborative education program aims to improve talent cultivation quality through deeper industry‑education integration and joint research between enterprises and universities.

The Ant Group–Renmin University project leveraged Renmin University's established blockchain‑based interdisciplinary platform to develop and implement a curriculum consisting of three parts: precise policy analysis and practical research guided by the "chain‑govern‑chain" concept; design and implementation of a multi‑level course system covering everything from courses to honor‑based minors; and timely feedback analysis and research participation in related evaluations.

The course, taught in small classes, focuses on blockchain and the digital economy, inviting domestic and international experts and industry elites alongside university faculty to teach fundamental theories and practical applications across areas such as product traceability, data circulation, supply‑chain management, government services, fintech, digital currency, digital RMB, social governance, industrial internet, e‑commerce, entertainment, metaverse, NFT, Web3, decentralized finance, and DAO. It advances cross‑disciplinary talent cultivation through a "1234" model of interdisciplinary, self‑established, and cross‑disciplinary levels, driven by courses, textbooks, platforms, and practice.

The teaching outcomes introduced concepts such as "co‑ticket economy" and "digital civilization", producing more than 20 systematic works and textbooks like "Blockchain + Regulation = Legal Chain" and "Digital Economy Theory and Governance".

Since 2020, Ant Group has actively participated in the Ministry of Education’s collaborative education initiatives, leveraging internal technologies such as AntChain, OceanBase, front‑end technologies, and privacy computing to jointly develop next‑generation key‑technology talent with top universities including Peking University, Shanghai Jiao‑Tong University, Zhejiang University, Fudan University, and Renmin University. By early 2022, Ant Group supported nearly 200 projects, offered close to 40 courses, built over 10 industry‑university research bases, organized nearly 100 teacher training events, invested nearly ten million RMB, and assisted nearly a thousand university teachers with the latest technical practice and case support.

Looking forward, Ant Group will continue to focus on ecosystem talent cultivation and services, strengthening the connection and collaboration among industry, academia, and research, deepening industry‑education integration, and promoting the development of a robust technical talent ecosystem.
